Before playing the game, an analysis of Craps Probabilities will help to have an insight about the winning and losing percentages. You may learn from the following hints that your probability of winning is just slightly under 50%.
Craps involves the rolling of two dices. There are 36 possible results, when you roll these dices:
- The chance of getting the sum 2 is possible only when there appears 1-1. From the possible combination of 36, the chance of occurrence for1-1 is just 1/36. Thus, the probability is 1/36= 2.78%.
- For rolling a 3, the possible occurrences are 1-2 and 2-1. Hence, the probability is 2/ 36=5.56%
- The chance of rolling a 4 is 3/36=8.83%, as a 4 is obtained, when the combinations of dices are 1-3, 2-2 and 3-1.
- The chance of rolling a 5 is 4/36=11.11 and the combinations are 1-4, 2-3, 3-2, and 4-1.
- 5/36=13.89% is the chances of rolling a 6. The combinations are 1-5, 2-4, 3-3, 4-2, and 5-1.
- The maximum probability that you will win is rolling a 7. The combinations that make 7 are 1-6, 2-5, 3-4, 4-3, 5-2, and 6-1. There are six chances of occurrences and your probability to gat a 7 is 6/36=16.6 %.
- For rolling an 8, the combinations are 2-6, 3-5, 4-4, 5-3, 6-2. The chances of occurrence is 6/36=13.89%.
- The chances of rolling a 9 is 5/36=11.11%. The combinations that make 9 are 3-6, 4-5, 5-4, 6-3.
- 10 is derived from the combinations of 4-6, 5-5, 6-4 and thus giving the probability of 3/36= 8.83 %.
- 11 is obtained from the combinations of 5-6 and 6-5. The probability of rolling 11 is 2/36=5.56%.
- 12 is possible from only one combination, 6-6. The chances of rolling a 12 is 1/36 i.e., just 2.78%.
The most frequent outcome is 7. Therefore, the chances are more that you will roll a seven.
